···    Read Seed is changing a generation of children....one book at a time    ···    40,000 books given since 2002    ···

The Read Seed, Inc. Mission:

Giving new, age-appropriate books to our children.
They are our future, they are our precious present.

Can You Imagine A World Without Books?
It Would Be Like A World Without Colors!!

Studies continue to show that the single most important factor in determining what child will fail or succeed academically is having access to books in their home.

Yes, Books.

Not Race...

Not Gender...

Not Socioeconomic Status...

Not School Wealth...

Not Region or Neighborhood...

Knowing This......

How Can We Not Give Them Books?

Since 2001, Read Seed has worked with North Carolina HUD Housing Authority partners to identify every resident child between ages 0 to 7 years old. We purchase new, age-appropriate books and take them directly to the home to insure that each child starts life with the benefit of book ownership. By giving books several times a year, Read Seed build in-home libraries and inspire more adult to child literacy activities at home.

Partnering with community stakeholders to improve child literacy gives opportunity for transforming literacy experiences for children. See Programs page for more details about bookgiving partnerships.

Read Seed, Inc understands the lifelong value of introducing children early and often to new books. Book ownership is instrumental in presenting a world of learning and life enhancing possibilities.

Read Seed, Inc wants children to fall in love with reading and books for a lifetime.
